Cationic modified corn starch
Cationic Corn Starch is a specially designed product for paper mass use. It increases physical resistance and fine retention due to its chemical modification. It can work in a wide range of paper grade and types, both for acid and alkaline processes. Glucovil Cationic Starch is compatible with ASA and AKD. According to substitution degree, three types are marketed: 260 MF, 330 MF, 420 MF.
Properties and uses
- Increases inner paper stress.
- Improves fine and load retention.
- Improves paper sheet opacity and density.
- Reduces DBO5 in plant effluents.
260 MF starch is used in high weight paper and low cationic demand, both for virgin paste or recycling.
330 MF starch is used both in high or medium weight paper, in mid-cationic demand systems.
420 MF starch has the highest substitution degree for cationic starch. Its use is recommended in low weight paper, for high cationic demand. It is applied in low concentration with high fine retention yield.
Glucovil cationic starch is fit for food packaging paper manufacturing.
