Gluten feed

Gluten feed is a by-product of the wet milling process made up from cereal shells or fibers and enriched in proteins with concentrated maceration water. Its appearance is of brown cylindrical pellets of approximately 10 x 25 mm.

Properties and Application

The Gluten Feed in pellets is a forage ingredient with a medium level of proteins and energy. It is mainly used in forages or concentrates for beef and milk cattle. It is also employed in balanced foodstuffs for poultry and pets, and in food for pigs. The Wet Gluten Feed is suitable for feedlots and accommodation businesses because it has to be immediately consumed..

Shelf Life

The Gluten Feed in pellets stored in optimum conditions of ensilage should be preferably consumed within 6 months. The Wet Gluten Feed should be consumed within 72 hours due to its high water activity (AW).
