Germ

Oleaginous component of the grain of corn obtained as byproduct thru the process of wet milling.
Its appearance is of oval cells of 4 a 9 mm and pale yellow colored with presence of fiber and corn starch in minimal quantities.

Properties and applications

Its main application is in obtaining of corn oil food grade. Its also used as nutrient in the fish industry.

In bulk.

Shelf life

Approximately 30 days, avoiding moisture and at temperatures no higher than 20 °C to avoid rancidity.
